Music Ally Sandbox Guide: BandLab

The latest Music Ally Sandbox Guide has arrived, taking a close look at BandLab and the increasing array of marketing opportunities that are available on the platform. Big thanks to BandLab CEO Meng Ru Kuok (and Meg Banich at RockPaperScissors), Greg Long at We Are Triumphant, Paul Jonas at Tru Thoughts Records, and FUGA’s SVP, Americas, Sarah Landy for taking the time to share comments for this piece, and an extra shout out to Stu Dredge and Joe Sparrow, as well as the rest of the Music Ally team, for their thoughts and insights on this.

BandLab has increasingly become part of music creators’ vocabulary in recent years. The name has started to pop up in interviews when an artist is asked to tell the tale of how a track came together, and has hit industry headlines as that kind of grassroots creator use led to news of the platform’s audience surpassing 100 million global users. Originally a music-production platform, it has subsequently become more fully-fledged, offering distribution, mastering, stem separation tools – and, latterly, a range of tools for audience growth. Artists are now using BandLab beyond the creative process for distribution, marketing and audience-building. So how can you use BandLab to market and distribute music – and connect with new fans? And what can you get out of BandLab beyond the creative tools? We find out. Find the full guide at musically.com.
