Keychange reaches 500 Pledge Signatories
I’m thrilled to share the news that 500 music organisations have now signed the Keychange Pledge, committing to work towards a gender-balanced future for the music industry 👏
The Keychange project has been in motion since 2017, and in that time has made enormous efforts to raise awareness of, and find solutions to gender under-representation in music. We do this by encouraging music festivals and organisations to take the Keychange Pledge, and to build frameworks to action positive change within their work. And we also do this through the Keychange talent development programme, inviting 74 women and gender minority artist and innovators to join a year long course of showcase opportunities, creative labs, networking and much more.
Our 500th pledge signatory is EBU Music, who we’ve had amazing discussions with to discuss how to spread the message of gender equality and diversity through broadcasting. Huge thanks to the EBU Music team for joining us on this mission, and thanks to new signatories SPOT Festival, Strawberries & Creem Festival, ADAMI and many more for taking steps towards lasting change.
