Nordic Music Export: Trade Mission to London

With Ja Ja Ja’s live shows on hold as a result of the ongoing pandemic, I was asked by the Nordic Music Export to engineer activities to engage the Nordic music industry with the UK to encourage network development and training in the interim period.

The inaugural Ja Ja Ja Trade Mission was therefore designed to help Nordic music industry members navigate paths to working with the UK, in a post(mid)-COVID and post-Brexit landscape. A lot of Nordic contacts had felt discouraged from travelling to the UK for both of these reasons, so the Trade Mission was created to offer a supportive and educational route towards the UK industry, and to encourage dialogue and networking between the various sectors and territories.

Based on applications received to join the Trade Mission, the programme was designed to suit the needs and requirements of managers, labels and A&Rs from the Nordic territories. Throughout the 2 day programme, (17/18th November 2021) over 50 UK professionals joined 23 Nordic delegates for tailored networking sessions, meetings, panel discussions, presentations and company visits. In addition to these organised activities, the delegates were invited to evening events in collaboration with The Great Escape Festival
